To ensure this quality, every step of the manufacturing process happens under Scelzi’s roof - starting with raw sheet metal and ending with finished truck bodies fitted and color-matched perfectly to host cabs and chassis.
At Scelzi Enterprises, the final product is as attractive as it is solid or it won’t leave the shop.

Once assembled, each body is carefully caulked by hand–inside and out–to prevent leaks, rust and corrosion. Truck bodies begin as raw sheet metal, which is sheared and bent on-site. Each bend is controlled by computer and checked by the press brake operator and Scelzi’s quality control inspectors.
Individual parts are assembled and welded into complete truck bodies. Scelzi welders are skilled craftsmen as evidenced by the perfection of each weld. After caulking has cured, the body is undersealed with an oil-based automotive undercoating for added protection.

Scelzi uses a modular wiring harness structure which includes convenient lamp plug-ins and protective plastic wire loom. The entire unit is snaked through steel tubes which are welded permanently to the undercarriage - a wiring system far superior to those supported only by temporary clips or glue-on tabs.

A Scelzi trademark, undercarriages for flatbed and utility bodies are supported by more steel crossbeams than those of most other truck body manufacturers.

Even the host truck cab is sprayed with a protective coating which is washed off after final inspection. This coating ensures that the original cab paint is uncompromised in the production environment.

Scelzi’s painting operation includes two oversized paint booths, side-draft heating and circulation, baking capabilities and exact color-match paint tinting technology. Scelzi’s skilled painters use only the highest grade urethane finish paints to ensure that every paint job protects the body, enhances the appearance and matches the original host cab.
